Miryam Lumpini: The Witch Doctor of Los Angeles

Miryam Lumpini is a female tattoo artist, influencer, and artistic collaborator who tattoos in a private studio in Los Angeles. Lumpini is known for her colorful, mystical tattoo style and free-flowing personality.

She calls herself the Witch Doctor, and admits that she relies on a strong group of women who have helped her grow her brand and assist her with the business side of things so that she can focus on creating art. 

Lumpini was born in Stockholm, Sweden, but was raised in a small town of Gothenburg by her single mother, who was also an artist. In a video interview with It’s the Session, Lumpini says that the isolation of her hometown helped her focus in on and grow her artistic endeavors. 

She admits that she started tattooing by ordering a tattoo kit online when she was 17, and started to hone her skills by practicing on friends. Eventually she was granted an apprenticeship at Zeal Tattoo in Kalmar.

Lumpini moved to Los Angeles in 2012, and since then she has tattooed celebrity clients including Skrillex and Jhené Aiko. When she’s not tattooing, Lumpini spends time creating stunning, large-scale artwork on canvas. She has also done collaborations with major brands including Reebok, Red Bull, and a temporary tattoo pen product launch with Bic.
